When reading about the Auckland ones and somehow it never clicked that they were actually IN the city. The city is so hilly that you don’t realize what things are just right around the corner from you. We had a blast exploring these and taking Leona to the top to see the view. She had so much fun and I had a few mild panic attacks about her up that high, she was always right near us though, no worries!
The view of our second destination is there in the distance.
Daddy’s go through a lot of baby abuse. She’s got him wrapped around that little finger as predicted!
What it’s really like to get a photo of all three of us.
Some perspective of how big this is!
I just can’t help but post all of the pictures. I want to look at these here everyday. It was breathtaking.
Channeling cousin it. Her hair is impossible to tame these days. Hair clips and bows? Forget about it.
Epic selfie upon a selfie :)
I just love her so much. I hope she at least remembers tiny glimpses of this trip and that the beauty and fun sticks with her and she continues to seek it as she grows up. Trying to lay the right foundation.
Obligatory crying toddler photo. Pretty sure she was mad I was trying to make her sit on a bench with me for a photo. Why is my two year old already a teenager?
She got over it pretty fast. As they do.
OH. Hey there.
Thank goodness for fellow tourists! We got a real family picture taken here. By a Norwegian guy :)
Auckland’s Mount Eden did not disappoint a bit. Thankfully it didn’t erupt while we were up there either. Did I mention these guys are still active? We headed right on over to One Tree Hill next where the founder of Auckland is buried and there is a monument up top on the rim.
How crazy is that bird back there! Haha it was so windy and cold too!
The good ole, “Let me make this holding my hand thing really difficult because I want to walk alone.”
Needless to say, it was a wonderful experience and it wore us all out. Luckily we had rented a car for the day and headed to the black sand beach from here while little miss napped. Stay tuned!
P.S. Do you have magical travel experiences you desperately hope your children remember?
