I typically feel torn about visiting the zoo. Are the animals happy? How did they get here? Where is the money going that we pay to get in? Hands down, the zoo’s we have visited her in Australia have changed my view. They are open and make room for the animals instead of keeping them in tiny cages and habitats and overall they are all about saving the wildlife. Werribee Open Range Zoo was one of the neatest places I have ever been. It actually is not an Australian animal zoo, but more like an African safari. We became zoo members so we will definitely be returning soon! They had so many activities built into the paths for the kids to play with and the whole zoo just felt like a real adventure.
They took us on a safari on a big neat bus and the animals were so close!
That little treat there is called a frog in a pond. How fun right? Freddo’s and jello. Yum.
Toddler in the wild.
This was so neat! Take a selfie!
Lately Leona has been singing this song she made up, “Stompasauras.Stompasaurus. Chomp. Chomp. CHOMP!” and I think she was inspired by hippo beach.
This lioness is laying on a jeep that is half in her habitat and half in ours!
Can you spot the Gorilla? P.S. we though tthat area was for kids to run and play and roll down the hill, turns out its where the Gorillas are and you just can’t see any of the fences.
Do you like the zoo?
