A couple of weekends ago we took leona to her first theme park! It is geared toward young children and toddlers so our little shorty was actually able to ride a few rides. A big bonus is that they have a spiegletent where they have children’s shows in the day time (and fun comedy, magic, and burlesque for adults at night!) and Leona was able to legit geek out over The Bubble Show. SO many bubbles. And bubble tricks. Toddler paradise. Our friend Kate, whose family owns the orchard, used to be the events coordinator here so we majorly got the hookup. Kate is so cool, right?
The theme park is almost underneath the new Melbourne Star ferris wheel which is done by the same people who did the London Eye! We are going on this when it gets to be more wintery here :)
She was not so sure about this ride, but eventually loved it and didn’t want to get off.
These boots… just so cute. I found them at Big W here for less than 10 bucks one day when we were in a pinch for some shoes for her here. Leona thought the kids screaming on this was HILARIOUS. Right when she could tell they were frightened, she would crack up. What is it with kids? haha
Leona’s first carousel ride! She wanted to keep switching to different animals while it was going. She seemed to be afraid she would miss out if she didn’t ride each one! So we rode this twice :)
Best dad on the planet. She actually wasn’t too sure about the fairy floss (I love that that is what they call cotton candy. Way cute.)
Eh this talking tree was a little on the creepy side for me. I have a legit phobia of mascots and this felt like one!
BUBBLES! So many bubbles!
You can tell Leona is completely amazed but that poor little girl in between us was not so impressed.
The area surrounding the park and star is called the Docklands. It is a really new outdoor mall and living area on the water and there are tons of neat fun places to go and fancy places to eat. For some reason the people in Melbourne are always putting this place down but we really quite liked it!
This day was absolutely one for the books. I know I say this almost every post, but we just feel so lucky to have these experiences. Thank you all for following along :)
